Bank Holiday Beer Festival is Coming to The Lion! 🇺🇸
Clear your calendars for August 28th – 30th because we’re throwing a massive Bank Holiday Beer Festival right here at The Lion—and it’s going to be one for the books!
We’re pouring over 20 cask and keg beers, including exclusive brews never before sold in London, alongside picks from top local and international partner breweries like Twickenham, Jawbone, and Wimbledon Brewery.
American-Style BBQ Menu: Firing up the grill for low-and-slow baby back ribs with homemade BBQ sauce, smokey & spicy gumbo, and classic shrimp & grits. Plus, don't miss our Sunday Crawfish Boil! Roll up your sleeves and get ready for a proper Southern-style feast! 🦞🌽🥔
“Early investor” beer tokens on sale in the pub until Thursday 27th August at £3.00 per half pint. £3.50 on the day. Buy ahead and you could be saving £1 a pint!

Day OneLet the games commence!
Friday (Aug 28)
Grand opening at 4:00 PM
Come and watch the tapping of the beer barrels! Guest speaker will officially open the Beer Festival and tap the last of the first barrels. Who will the guest speaker be? Will they do it as well as Damion? Be there to find out! Any spillage will be noted!
Live music from a brilliant cover band Scratch Demons (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM). Andy from Scratch Demons was delighted when we got in touch, following a tip-off from Diane Lewis - this band was a regular fixture ‘back-in-the-day’, and are delighted to be invited back to headline the opening night of the festival.
Day Two 
Pop rock and folk plus family day!
Saturday (Aug 29):
BBQ fired up from 12:00 PM
Family entertainment with Miss Ruffles (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM). Brilliant act who have run ~4 events already with us at the pub. Always an absolute success, with kids who love the 2 hours playing silly games, watching magic tricks and balloon modelling. The bubbles and foam seal the deal at the end. Suitable for ages up to ~9/10.
TNT Duo performing for us. Tim & Tom (Geddit? There are two of them!) are back with us for another brilliant set of crowd pleasers which will get you all singing along (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM).
Sunday (Aug 30):
BBQ from 12:00 PM
Sunday Roasts will be served 12.00 - 14;30pm (BBQ until 20:00)
Crawfish Boil at 3:00 PM. A true first for Teddington (we think!). We’re cooking up a massive pot of spiced crawfish, sweet corn, smoked sausage, and potatoes, served up straight onto the tables for a unique ‘southern-style’ social dining experience. It’s messy, flavourful, and built for sharing over a (several) pints of beer.
New Orleans Jazz by The Trombombs (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM). Led by US powerhouse and local resident Scott Flynn, The Trombombs are bringing their high-octane brass band to The Lion. Powerful, funky, and packed with talent, this crew redefines what a trombone can do—delivering a high-energy set that makes it impossible to stay in your seat. They have ‘blown’ the roof time each time they’ve played, so expect the same from them this time.
